WHAT TO DO IN VAL GARDENA IN WINTER

Santa Cristina is one of the most convenient access points to the Dolomiti Superski area, one of the largest in the world. But winter in Val Gardena isn't only about skiing: here's how our guests experience it, with a few practical tips from people who see the snow from their window every day.

ALPINE SKIING AND THE SELLARONDA

The free ski bus, stopping just 150 metres from the apartment, gets you in a few minutes to the lifts connecting the whole of Val Gardena to the rest of the ski area. The Sellaronda — the loop of the four passes on skis, clockwise or anticlockwise — is the classic day trip for anyone who wants to see the very best of the Dolomites in a single day.

A SKI INSTRUCTOR AT HOME

Among the services we offer is the chance to speak directly with an experienced local ski instructor, especially useful if it's your first time on our slopes and you want to know where to start without wasting precious holiday time.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING AND SLEDGING

If you're after a different pace, Val Gardena also has well-maintained cross-country skiing loops and sledging runs lit up in the evening — a perfect outing after dinner, suitable for families with children too.

WINTER WALKS

Not every day of your holiday has to be on skis. The trails around Santa Cristina remain walkable all winter, often groomed specifically for walking, with snow-covered woods giving a completely different atmosphere from summer.

In the apartment you'll find ski storage with a boot dryer, so your gear is ready and dry every morning without having to carry it up the stairs.
